Customs Duties, Taxes & Import Clearance
1. General Information
International orders may be subject to import duties, taxes, customs clearance fees, and other charges imposed by the destination country. The applicable charges depend on the delivery destination, shipment value, product classification, and local import requirements.
2. Prepaid Duties & Taxes for Selected Countries
For selected delivery countries, customs duties and taxes are pre-calculated and displayed under “Customs Duties Tax” at checkout. This amount is collected together with your order payment to cover the applicable import duties and taxes calculated for your shipment.
Availability is determined by the delivery address and shipping service selected. Please review your order summary before completing payment to confirm whether “Customs Duties Tax” has been included.
Where these charges have been collected, you should not normally be required to pay the same import duties and taxes again upon delivery.
3. Destinations Without Prepaid Duties & Taxes
If “Customs Duties Tax” is not included in your checkout total, import duties and taxes have not been collected by ProtechKitZone. This does not necessarily mean that your shipment is exempt from such charges.
For these destinations, the recipient is responsible for paying any applicable import duties, taxes, courier clearance fees, brokerage fees, or other import-related charges directly to the courier or relevant authority.
These charges are separate from our product prices and shipping fees. Customers should check the import requirements of their destination country before placing an order.
4. Calculation & Final Customs Assessment
Pre-calculated duties and taxes are based on the order information and delivery details available at checkout. The final customs assessment is determined by the relevant authorities.
Changes to the delivery destination, order contents, or shipment details may require the amount to be recalculated. If a discrepancy arises between the amount collected and the final assessment, please contact us so we can review it with the courier. Any adjustment or refund will be assessed against the supporting documents and charges actually incurred.
5. Additional or Duplicate Payment Requests
If you have paid “Customs Duties Tax” at checkout and the courier or customs authority requests further payment, please contact us before paying and provide:
Your order number.
The courier’s tracking number.
A copy of the payment request, invoice, or customs notice.
Details of the charges requested.
We will review the request to determine whether it relates to duties and taxes already collected or to a separate charge. If payment has already been made, please retain the official receipt for review. Reimbursement is subject to verification and is not automatic.
6. Separate Clearance & Service Fees
The “Customs Duties Tax” amount covers the import duties and taxes calculated at checkout. Separate charges may arise for storage, special handling, additional inspections, permits, address changes, or other services outside standard customs clearance.
If such charges are requested, please contact us for clarification. Responsibility for these costs will depend on the reason they arose and whether they were included in the amount collected at checkout.
7. Recipient’s Responsibilities
Customers must provide complete and accurate recipient details, including the recipient’s name, delivery address, contact number, and email address.
Where required, the recipient must also provide identification, a tax identification number, an import permit, or other documents requested by the courier or customs authority. Customers must respond promptly to clearance requests.
Additional costs caused by incorrect information, delayed responses, or failure to provide required documentation may be payable by the customer, where permitted by applicable law.
8. Customs Declarations
ProtechKitZone declares shipments accurately based on the goods purchased and the applicable customs requirements. We cannot accommodate requests to undervalue goods, provide misleading product descriptions, or falsely declare purchases as gifts.
9. Customs Delays
All international shipments remain subject to customs inspection and clearance, including shipments with prepaid duties and taxes.
Estimated delivery times are estimates and may be extended by customs inspections, requests for documentation, or processing delays. We will provide reasonable assistance with shipment enquiries, but customs release times are determined by the relevant authorities.
10. Refused, Unclaimed or Returned Shipments
If a shipment is refused, remains unclaimed, or is returned because the recipient fails to pay applicable charges or complete customs requirements, any eligible refund will be assessed under our Return & Refund Policy.
Where permitted by applicable law, original shipping charges, return shipping fees, storage charges, and other documented, unrecoverable costs may be deducted from the refund.
If the shipment is abandoned or disposed of by the courier or customs authority, the refund will depend on the circumstances, recoverable amounts, and applicable law.
11. Cancellation, Returns & Refunds
If an order is cancelled before dispatch, any “Customs Duties Tax” collected will be refunded together with the applicable order payment.
Once a shipment has been dispatched or customs charges have been incurred, duties and taxes may no longer be refundable. Returning an item does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund of these charges.
For duties and taxes paid directly to a courier or customs authority, the customer may need to apply to that party for a refund. We can provide available order and shipment documents to support the application, but approval rests with the relevant party.
Any refund of duties and taxes collected by ProtechKitZone will depend on the charges actually incurred, amounts recovered, and applicable law.
